Another Way SDE Course with Cassidy

June-August 2022

A course for visionary educators seeking to liberate children to learn naturally

This course is for anyone who has felt the tension of forcing children to learn and has wondered if there is another way. There is! We will get to know the world of self-directed education (SDE), which describes a more humane approach to learning that puts children’s natural curiosities and interests front and center. You will be led on this journey by Cassidy Younghans, an experienced mentor and self-directed education facilitator & program founder. Cassidy will offer various media resources to engage, reflective questioning, as well as immersive experiences in SDE learning spaces. Through key books, podcasts, films and presentations, you will learn the core values and principles of the field. Cassidy and course participants will explore some of the current SDE models and support you to discover your niche and to consider how and where you may join the movement.

Mission

Our mission is to facilitate deep inquiry and knowledge acquisition of the theory and practice of Self-Directed Education for course participants.

In assessing your place on the sliding fee scale of $75-200, please consider the following:
-Your place in the global economic context

-Your ability to raise funds from family and friends (i.e. GoFundMe)
-People counting on you as financial dependents (children, elders, community)
-Historical discrimination faced by your people/groups
